| THE WICKENBURG SUN THE WEEK OF APRIL 9, 2003 Joe R. Rush, 67, passed away April 5, 2003 in Sun City West, Ariz. Mr. Rush was born Jan. 17, 1936 in Kiowa, Okla. He and his family later moved to California. They lived in Lamont where Joe attended school. Joe was married in 1947. He worked as a laborer at Calcot until 1977. Joe then came to Arizona where he worked for the IBEW Local No. 769 for three years. He then returned to Bakersfield, Calif. working at Calcot and in the refineries until 1994. Joe then moved back to Arizona to stay. He loved gardening and his CB radio. Joe was known around the neighborhood for his famous salsa, which was dubbed "Papa Joe's Salsa." Joe will be deeply missed and never forgotten by his family, many friends and co-workers who loved and supported him. In loving memory of Joe Rush: "May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine always upon your face and the rain fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of his hands." Survivors include his wife Lois Elaine Rush of Wittmann, Ariz.; daughter and son-in-law Tammy and Johnny Gonzalez of Bakersfield, Calif.; sons and daughters-in-law Rick and Cathy Rush of Arbuckle, Calif., Kevin and Sharon Sumpter of Wittmann, Ariz., Vincent and Lisa Osborn of Bakersfield, Calif.; sisters and brothers-in-law Leona and Raymond Nalley of Pauls Valley, Okla., Norma and Howard DeShazo of Parks, Ark., Connie and Elton Neal of Bakersfield, Calif., Barbara Sue and C.W. Elrod of Cherry Valley, Ark.; brothers and sisters-in-law Charles and Brenda Rush of Wittmann, Ariz., Bill and Esther Rush of Bakersfield, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Connie E. and Ruby Rush; sisters Loretta Peel and Betty Ann Rush. Memorial services were held April 7, 2003 at Wickenburg Funeral Home.
