Lois B. Korink

Lois B. Korink was born May 11, 1938 in Chicago, Ill., daughter of James and Florence Bertino (deceased). She was raised in Chicago, moved to Florence, Ala., and made Wickenburg her home since 1981.

She met her husband Robert in Chicago, and they were married in Wickenburg in 1988.

She was a horsewoman and animal lover her whole life. Horse riding was second nature to her. She was a member of Wickenburg Horseman's Association and participated in the Las Damas monthly rides.

She had a love for all animals and was a member of several animal societies. She became a passionate advocate of animal rights and was a dedicated member of Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, Utah.

One of Lois' favorite daily activities was feeding the local wildlife in the front of her house in the early morning. Lois enjoyed traveling with her husband Bob, two dogs Annie and Barnie, and her grandson Nicholas to various places throughout the U.S.

Points of interest that she really loved were Disneyworld, Alaska, Hawaii and Jackson Hole, Wyo.

Her favorite holiday was Christmas-time. She would spend several days decorating her home in preparation for the arrival of her family and friends.

Lois will be greatly missed by her husband, family, friends and animals. God has called her home, where there is no pain and suffering only endless trail rides. There she will patiently wait until her husband can join her, and they can continue on their journey together.

From her brother and sister, "All for One, and One for All."

She is survived by her husband Robert Korink, sons Archie and David Fields, daughters Linda Fields and Kimberly Sims, sister Janice Marino, brother James Bertino, grandchildren Jimmy, Fallon, Robbie and Nicholas Korink, Archie Fields III, Tyler Fields, and one great-grandchild Landon, and her dogs Annie and Barney.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Best Friends Animal Society," 5001 Angel Canyon Rd., Kanab, UT 84741.

Services will be held at St. Anthony's in Wickenburg at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 30.

Arrangements are being made by Frey Funeral Home.
