| The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona January 15, 1999 Clarence Edward Gernert, 73, of Glendale, a retired Army sergeant, died Jan. 13, 1999. He was born in Philadelphia and was also a Marine Corps veteran. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor; daughters, JoAnne Klingener and Karen Riddle; sons, Edward, Donald and John; sisters, June Schulter and Minnie Snyder; brother, John; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation was at Heritage Funeral Chapel with Scripture service. Mass at St. Helens Catholic Church, 5510 W. Cholla, Glendale. Contributions: Multiple Sclerosis Association, 8776 E. Shea Blvd., P.O.
