William (Bill) E. Stewart passed away Sept. 22 in Wickenburg, Ariz. He was born August 1, 1921 on the Cross Triangle Ranch in Prescott, Ariz.

A World War II veteran in the army, he served in the European Theater and in the invasion at Normandy. Following his service he returned to ranching at Castle Hot Springs, later moving to Wickenburg where he worked and retired from the Arizona Highway Department.

He enjoyed dancing, roping, and reading western novels, and the joy his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him.

He is survived by wife Donna, his children, Jeff of Wickenburg, Robin (Scott) Hazard of Phoenix, and Shelli (Roger) Stibbens of Wickenburg; step-children Penny (Jay) Carroll of Pie Town , N.M., Leigh Donahue of Wickenburg, Carrie (Bruce) Wallace of Mill Creek, Washl; grandchildren Ryan and Lauren Hazard, Justin Carroll, Seana Hicks, Courtney Donahue, Morgan and Nolan Wallace; and four great-grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be held this Saturday (Sept. 29) at 1 p.m. at Wickenburg Funeral Home, 187 N. Adams St.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Wickenburg area Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 21117, Wickenburg, AZ, 85358.

Arrangement are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home.
