James Ronald Goodwin was born on December 19, 1938 in Bakersfield, CA. He left the loving embrace of his family to be with our Lord on May 18, 2009.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Lois and their five children, Gwyn (Christopher) Marquez , Skott (Mable) Goodwin, Erik Goodwin, Trent (Sandy) Goodwin, Heather (Chad) Greene; his eight wonderful grandchildren, Daniel and Ivy Beaugy, TJ Hinderliter, Andrew Greene, Jordan and Margaret Goodwin, Alexis Goodwin, Tristan Goodwin and one terrific great grandson, Liam James Beaugy.

Jim was a man of many talents who lived his life with grace, honesty and humor. He never met a stranger and was generous to a fault.

As a young man, Jim served his country in the United States Navy and the Air Force, which awakened in him a love of travel, history and a deep respect for knowledge. But of all of his achievements, his greatest was being a faithful and adoring husband and father.
