Fayola Duncan

Fayola Duncan, 83, of Wickenburg, passed away Wednesday June 24 in Wickenburg Community Hospital with her family at her side.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack; daughter Leslie Faye; great-granddaughters Cassie, Lauren and Brandi; sisters Cecil Novell, Loyce Ruth, Sarah, Nellie and Lora; brothers Bob, Dewey, Raymond and Jesse. She was survived by her daughters Sue Kirkendoll and son-in-law Lucky, Sr. of Wickenburg; and Patricia Miller of California; granddaughters Leslie Kirkendoll of Phoenix; Debbie Miller (Mike) of Surprise; Brenda Anderson (Steve) of Boise, Idaho; Tonyia Kase (Bob) of Prescott Valley; Valerie Ricke (Joe) of Wickenburg; Shona Hudspeth of California; Lesa Valdez of California; and grandson Lucky Kirkendoll, Jr. (Lissa) of Anthem, as well as 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Fayola was an airplane mechanic at Falcon Field and Williams Field during World War II. At the end of the war she and her husband left Arizona to ranch in Idaho, Oregon and Northern California. After returning to Arizona, she raised her family while continuing her education to become a medical secretary, from which career she retired. We will miss our Grandma Bear.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, June 30 at 10 a.m. at Wickenburg Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest with her husband Jack in the Cottonwood Cemetery.
