Born in Grygla, Minnesota on Sept. 19, 1919.
Departed on May 8, 2003 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Harley Petterson, 83, passed away May 8. He was born in Grygla, Minnesota September 19, 1919. Served his country in the South Pacific during World War II. He was the recepient of two silver stars, one bronze star and two purple hearts. He was also nominated for the Congressional Medal of Honor.

He was united in marriage to Berniece Freed on June 7, 1947. He is survived by his wife, Berniece; children, Kim and Barbara Petterson, Stewart Petterson, Mary Petterson and Lonnie; two grandchildren, Erik and Kristen.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 12 in the Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Ave, Cottonwood at 3 p.m.
