Ethel Velma Bullis Dazen

Ethel Velma Bullis Dazen, 70, of San Carlos passed away on Friday, June 26, 2009 at her residence in San Carlos. Born in San Carlos on Jan. 10, 1939, she lived in Arizona throughout her life and worked at the Shelter Care Home as the Director.

She attended San Carlos Schools and worked hard to get her diploma. She continued her education at various community colleges, taking courses in nursing and business. Ethel worked in several Health Care Centers like Heritage Care Center, and she was the Director for the San Carlos Shelter Care, and acting director at Older Adult Center in San Carlos. After her retirement she enjoyed being a homemaker, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was also active in church activities which is where she met Floyd Dazen, her second husband, and they married in Jan. 2002. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband Floyd Dazen of San Carlos; sons, Matthew Bullis (Charlotte) of San Carlos, Velas Quade (Marjorie) of Whiteriver; daughters, Doranda Pechuli (Anthony) of Globe, Berlinda Astor (McBryan) of San Carlos; sister, Roberta Torrez (Gilbert) of Phoenix. Ethel is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Hansen Bullis, and her daughters Wanda and Leah.

Wake was held on Saturday, July 4, at 4 p.m. at the Bullis-Dazen residence located on Route 6 m.p. 11.0. Services were held on Sunday, July 5 at 2 p.m. at the Gilson Wash Baptist Church in San Carlos with Interment taking place at the San Carlos Cemetery.
