Born in Carlock, South Dakota on April 30, 1914.
Departed on Oct. 14, 2002 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Francis Peat, 88, of Cottonwood, passed from this world on October 14, 2002.

Born on April 30, 1914 in Carlock, South Dakota to Herman and Hilma Mohr, she lived in California and Oregon most of her young adult years. She resided in Arizona for the last 31 years.

She is survived by her son, Melvin of Modesto, Calif.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters and their families, Lorraine Reiman, Omaha Neb., Alpha Hake and husband LaRoy, Eureka, Calif. and Naomi Allen, Madera Calif.; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Peat, daughter LaDorna, four brothers and three sisters.

Francis enjoyed traveling with her husband and later, her niece Marilyn Bodner. Playing cards, cribbage and dancing were her favorite hobbies. She was happiest when she was helping others; Be it at the senior center, friends in need, or anyone she could provide friendship and comfort to.

Special thanks to niece Mary Ann Riha for her friendship and care in the last days.

At Francis' request, no memorial services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Northern Arizona Hospice, 269 S. Candy Lane, Cottonwood, Ariz., 86326.
