Cora Brown (Clark) Midgley - Burmester

Born in Grantsville, Utah on Sept. 5, 1914.
Departed on Nov. 29, 2002 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Cora Brown Midgley Burmester, 88 years, passed away peacefully Friday, November 29, 2002 in Cottonwood, Arizona. She was born 5 September 1914 in Grantsville, Utah of Roy Thomas Brown and Alice Leone Clark.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Lawrence Rowberry Burmester and her second husband Edward Eardley Midgley.

She is survived by her sister Margene Imlay, Grantsville, Ut., daughter Carla Brown Burmester Call, Cottonwood, Ariz., sons Lawrence Richard Burmester, South Jordan, Ut., and Joel Thomas Burmester, West Jordan, Ut.; grandmother of twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Cora devoted her life to the love and service of her family, friends and community. For many years she served in the Red Cross and California PTA.

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she had the opportunity to serve in both the Oakland, Calif. and Provo Ut. temples for over 20 years. As a lifelong member of the Relief Society in the LDS church, she actively practiced its motto 'Charity Never Faileth'.

Through her example and commitment to live a charitable life, she lifted the lives of many others helping them to find happiness and fulfillment. Education was always a priority in Cora's life and consequently, in the lives of her children. She read constantly,traveled extensively, and took an array of classes at local universities throughout her life, continually increasing her knowledge and understanding of the world around her. She also reveled in the beauty of the world around her. Gardening, flower arranging, decorating, painting and sewing helped Cora express her enjoyment of life's beauties.

Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the treasures of her life.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 7th at 11:00 a.m. at the Oak Hills 6th Ward chapel os the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Provo, Utah.

Interment will be Tuesday, December 10th at the Greenlawn Memorial Park in Colma, CA. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
