Bobby V. Brown The White Mountain Independent 06/02/2009 Bobby V. Brown, 79, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at his home in Eagar. He was born Aug. 14, 1929, in Springerville to Allison Adolph Brown and Hettie Ruby Peery. Bobby served in the U.S. Army from Jan. 13, 1951, to Jan. 8, 1953, during the Korean War. He was a heavy equipment operator retiring in 1994. If you drive on a road in Arizona, odds are he worked on it. The most recent project he worked on was the raising of Roosevelt Dam. Bobby was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing. Noble Mountain was his favorite place. He died less than a mile from where he was born at his home, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, Jean Brown of Eagar; sons Bobby Brown Jr. of Mesa and Chuck Brown of Eagar; daughters Lynn (Ike) Arnell of Mountain View, Wyo., and Melodie Brown of Springerville; 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; and sister Loretta (Tuffy) Slade of Eagar. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Billy Brown and Raymond Brown and sister Katherine. Viewing was held Sunday, May 31, at Burnham Mortuary in Eagar. Funeral services were held Monday, June 1, at the Presbyterian Community Church in Springerville. Interment followed at the Nutrioso Cemetery. Burnham Mortuary of Eagar handled arrangements.
