Dolores Minerva Hess, 74, of Rimrock died May 22. She was born September 22, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois.

She was secretary of the VFW Post 6739 Womens Auxillary in Camp Verde and was founder of the Youth Scholarship Program. In 2001 she was named Outstanding Secretary of the Year.

She leaves her husband, Albert James Hess; daughters, Cheryl Kay James, Kirkland and Barbara Alice Spradling, Cottonwood; a son, James Whilldyn Hess, Flagstaff; a sister, Kathleen Lyons, Austin, Tx.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 26 at the VFW Post, 377 W. General Crook Trail, Camp Verde at 11 a.m.

Donations in her memory may be made to the VFW 6739, Women's Auxillary Youth Scholarship Program.
