Darrell Lyman Kinsey

Darrell Lyman Kinsey, 57, resident of Clarkdale, passed away at the Phoenix Indian Medical Center in Phoenix on Friday, February 29, 2008. He was born in Cottonwood on October 31, 1950; the son of John and Flora (Kwail) Kinsey.

Growing up in the Verde Valley, Darrell attended the Clarkdale Elementary School and Mingus Union High School. Following which, he served as a Private First Class with the United States Army.

Professionally, Darrell was a welder and a bronze sculpturer. He loved music and playing the guitar; he enjoyed golfing and taking long walks; but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and reading the Bible.

Darrell is preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind his son Tommy Jackson; his daughters, Melissa Kinsey of Phoenix, Dawn Jackson Thomasene Cardona with her husband, Rudy of Camp Verde, and Sheila Jackson with her husband, Alde of Middle Verde; his brothers, Sanford Kwail with his wife, Francise of Clarkdale, Dave Kinsey Sr. of Middle Verde, and John Kinsey Jr. of Clarkdale; his sisters, Sharon Lorina, Mary Alice Dewis, and Garnett Kinsey-all of Clarkdale; as well as, 18 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2008 from 6:00 – 8:00pm. Funeral Services will follow on Friday, March 7, 2008 at 2:00pm. All services will be held at Westcott Funeral Home. Interment will then take place at Valley View Cemetery.
