Robert Curtis Joy

Robert Curtis Joy, 66, died at his home in Wickenburg on Friday, Aug. 27, 2004.

Born in Holden, Mo., he lived most of his life in Shawnee, Kan.

He earned a B.A. in Economics from Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kan., and after graduating married Barbara Rogers Joy.

Mr. Joy worked in real estate investments for 25 years before moving to Arizona in 1985. He lived in Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, and the Carefree/Cave Creek area before moving to Wickenburg in January of 2004.

A lifelong Christian, he worshipped at Desert Hills Presbyterian Church, Black Mountain Community Church and the First Presbyterian Church of Wickenburg.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Barbara; son Curt Joy; daughter Kristen Joy Rehorn and son-in-law Scott Rehorn; and two granddaughters, Kassie and Tatum Rehorn of Arizona.

His mother, Ruth Joy, and sister, Darlene Vaughn, both of Kansas, also survive.

Memorial services are scheduled for Tuesday (Sept. 7) at 2 p.m. at Desert Hills Presbyterian Church in Carefree.
