| Wickenburg Sun dated May 5, 2004 David Mark Whitney David Mark Whitney, 53, of Flagstaff, died Tuesday, April 27, 2004. He was born in Torrance, Calif., on March 2, 1951, to David and Lynette Whitney. Mr. Whitney graduated from Wickenburg High School and attended Northern Arizona University where he met his wife, Darcie. He graduated from Colorado State University in 1974. He worked with the U.S. Forest Service as a fisheries biologist for 32 years. He loved the outdoors and was passionate about his family. He and his family moved back to Flagstaff in 1990. He is survived by his wife, Darcie, of 30 years; children Chris (Shelley) Whitney and Corrie Jane Whitney, both of Flagstaff; and two granddaughters. A memorial service was held Saturday at Christ's Church of Flagstaff, 3475 E. Soliere Ave., Flagstaff. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Mark Whitney Environmental Science Scholarship Fund at Sinagua High School, 3950 E. Butler Ave. Flagstaff, AZ 86004.
