Taylor Reed Boswell Whitacre

Posted 2007-11-18 by Tucson Newspapers
Whitacre, Taylor Reed Boswell, 18, October 14, 2007.

Preceded in death by his adoring mother, Wendy; he is survived by a loving family and countless friends who will miss him dearly.

Born May 10th, 1989 in Nakajo-Machi, Niigata, Japan to Wendy Whitacre and Paul Boswell.

As a boy, Taylor was precocious and bright, speaking Japanese and English fluently, moving between cultures with ease and making friends on both sides of the Pacific. As a young man, he was an accomplished musician, playing the bass guitar in bands at venues around Tucson, as well as a brilliant philosopher, a deeply caring, sensitive and loving son, brother, nephew, cousin, grandson and friend.

Taylor lived in Japan with his mother and father from 1993 to 2000. He attended Kitakaizuka grade school in Chiba through the fifth grade and had many close friends in school and in his neighborhood.

After returning to Tucson for middle school, he went on to graduate from Catalina Foothills High School, and was enrolled at the University of Arizona, where he also worked with foreign students at the Center for English as a Second Language.

Taylor, we'll never forget your impish grin, your wry sense of humor, your beautiful soul or the bright red hair that set you apart from everyone else. We love you.

The family wishes to thank the St. Mary's Intensive Care Unit nurses and the staff of the Sisters of Carondolet Hospice for their compassion and care.
