FERNANDEZ, Paulo M., Paul was called to his Lord on July 12, 2009. He was born in Hayden, AZ on October 19, 1925. Paul was preceded in death by grandsons, Orlando and Diego Mendoza; beloved daughter, Rebecca F. Reitsma ("Mi Negra"); brother, Jesus and sister, Irene. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nellie; daughters, Mary Frances (Frank) Mendoza and Eunice (Leonard) Santos; son, Paul (Jeanette) Fernandez Jr.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Paul was a decorated Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Philippine Islands. He was also an avid golfer as a member of the Old Pueblo Men's Golf Club where he registered two holes-in-one. He was employed as a machinist by Hughes Aircraft Company, retiring in 1988. Services will be held on Friday, July 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a 10:00 a.m. Chapel Service at MARTINEZ FUNERAL CHAPELS, 2580 S. Sixth Avenue. Burial immediately following at Holy Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Paul may be made to Casa de los Ninos and MADD. "Walk In The Shade".
