E. Virginia Fitch 12/09/2005 Virginia Fitch died suddenly Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005 in Show Low at the age of 83. She was born Sept. 7, 1922 to the late Horace G. and Mary Tunks Pool. In her younger years she worked for Ore-Ida Potatoes in Idaho. She moved to Arizona from Colorado 46 years ago. Her husband, Preston L. Fitch, passed away in 1970. She worked as a cafeteria manager for the Murphy School District No. 3 in Phoenix. She will, however, be known as a loving mom and grandmother to her family. Virginia was truly a Christian woman, as she was kind, loving and generous to everyone she met. She will be dearly missed. Virginia is survived by four sons, Preston Lynn (Nancy) Fitch of Phoenix, Kerry Owen (Charlotte) Fitch of Spokane, Wash., Steven J. (Vivian) Fitch and Brian Roy (Cheryl) Fitch both of Phoenix; two daughters, Margaret Elaine (Robert D.) Bell and Dee Ann Jameson both of Snowflake; sister, Alyce Payton of Fort Myers, Fla.; 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and was expecting her first great-great-grandchild Dec. 24. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter Karen Sue Fitch; eight brothers, Horace Greeley Pool Jr., David Pool, George Pool, Delbert Pool, Roy Pool, Albert Boots Pool, Joseph T. Pool and Billy Pool and three sisters, Nancy Pool, Mary Ellen Fitch and Betty Murray. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7 at the Valley View Southern Baptist Church in Snowflake with Pastor Robert Seymour officiating. Burial was held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8 at Greenwood Memorial Lawn in Phoenix. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the landscape fund at Valley View Southern Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1181, Snowflake, AZ 85937. Owens Mortuary of Snowflake is handling arrangements.
