Departed on June 27, 2002 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Harold Robert (Bob) Haviland, 80, of Cottonwood passed away at his residence on June 27, 2002.

He and his wife, Gloria recently celebrated their sixtieth wedding annivesary together. Bob was born in Los Angeles, California. They moved to Arizona in 1980, residing in Cottonwood since 1990.

He served as a pilot in the Army Air Force during World War II, flying 'The Hump' with the 1337th AAFBU and Search and Rescue with the 1352nd AAFBU in the China-India-Burma Theater. He was awarded the Air medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He retired as a Major from the Air Force reserve in 1961. For the past 22 years, he was an active member of the Central Arizona Modelers (C.A.M.)radio-controlled model aviation club, serving the last 12 years as an instructor. He was a life member of the Sedona Elks.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria; son, Craig and daughter, Diane. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Private family services were under the direction of Westcott Funeral Home, Cottonwood, Arizona.
