William Floyd Penrod

He was born July 3, 1930 in Show Low, the son of Flauris Chester and Grace Ellen (Riddle) Penrod. He was raised and attended school in Show Low.

He was married to Jerrie Mettie Feb. 4, 1950 in Gallup, New Mexico. He lived in Safford, Globe and Show Low, moving to Springerville earlier this year. He was a home builder, equipment operator and mechanic. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, the rodeo and car races. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Show Low 3rd Ward. He was known as a good man with a big heart.

He is survived by daughters Dianne (Danny) Layton of Show Low, Rhonda Graeber of Phoenix, Wendy Penrod of Springerville and Kerri (Danny) Mendell of Springerville; a son, William "Bill" Penrod, Jr. of Springerville; sisters Velma Smithson of Mesa and Dorothy Jean McCleve of Taylor; brothers Jack Penrod of Show Low and Joe Penrod of Pima; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29 at the Show Low Stake Center, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Show Low Cemetery.
