Donald L. Parker

Born in Hood River, Oregon on Oct. 27, 1920.
Departed on Nov. 9, 2003 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Donald L. Parker, 83, departed this life at his home in Cottonwood,
Arizona, November 9, 2003. Donald was the only child of of Frank
Lemuel and Addie McGarvin Parker, born on October 27, 1920 at Hood
River, Oregon.

He resided at Parkdale, Oregon through elementary school into high
school. When he was 17, the family moved due to his mother's health
to Nyssa, Oregon where he graduated from high school. On November 15,
1941 he married Naomi Lorenson at Caldwell, Idaho. They were blessed
with five children. Don was a very devoted husband and father.

He enjoyed photography, and made numerous videos for travel
experiences during retirement years traveling extensively in their
motorhome. He retired as Traffic and Transportation Analyst from
Lockheed Missiles & Space, now Lockheed Martin, in Sunnyvale,
California and moved to the Verde Valley in 1986.

He leaves behind Naomi, his devoted wife of 62 years; two daughters,
Donnamae Thomas, husband Marvin, W.V. and Linda Asher, N.M.; sons,
Ronald, wife, Ruby Parker of Calif., Edwin, wife, Carol Parker, Tx.,
and Wesley, wife, Cathy, Tx.; nine grandchildren and nine great-
grandchildren; many cousins and longtime friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a beloved grandson Darren
Donald Parker, and son-in-law, Dr. Robert Asher.

Services to be held at the Anderson Tribute Center, 1401 Belmont
Drive Hood River, Oregon 97031 on Thursday, November 13.

Interment in the mausoleum at Idlewild Cemetery at Hood River.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to
Northern Arizona Hospice, 203 S. Candy Lane, Cottonwood, AZ 86326 or
to the National Foundation for Cancer Research, 4600 E. West Highway,
Suite 525, Bethesda, Maryland, 20814.
