Born in Phoenix, Arizona on Sept. 13, 1936.
Departed on Sept. 23, 2003 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona.

John H. Pruitt, 67, of Cottonwood died September 23. He was born September 13, 1936 in Phoenix, Arizona.

He was an active elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was known for his good cooking and inviting others to enjoy it with him. He cherished his family and especially his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

He was retired from the trucking industry and was a Naval veteran of the Korean War.

He leaves his daughters, Linda Marie Pruitt, Pleasant Valley, N.Y., Karen Rene Deritis, Ga., Sandra Lisa Pruitt, Millwood, N.Y.; son, John Henry Pruitt III of Fishkill, N.Y.; sister, Nina Beth Church, Cottonwood, Linda Hurlene Albanese, Sun City, and Georgia Ellen Ahrlich, Cottonwood; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; six nephews, Gene Groves, Cottonwood, Ray Albanese, Greg Albanese and John Albanese, all of Eastchester, N.Y., Chuck Ahrlich, Mesa and Glen Ahrlich, Phoenix.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 27 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Cottonwood from 11:30 to noon. Followed immediately by a funeral service at noon.
