Emelia 'Emma' A. Ochoa Born in Jerome, Arizona on Jan. 15, 1907. Departed on Sept. 29, 2003 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona. Emma A. Ochoa, 96, of Cottonwood died September 29. She was born January 15, 1907 in Jerome, Arizona. She worked for many years at the former Marcus J. Lawrence Hospital (now Verde Valley Medical Center) in the cafeteria and was head cook for several of those years. Mrs. Ochoa was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and enjoyed wood finishing, macrame, baking, growing African violets and gardening in general. She also loved to travel or just go out for a ride. Her husband, Ernest C. Ochoa preceded her in death. She leaves daughters, Ernestine Simpson and Patricia Hackensmith; sons, Robert Ochoa, Charles Ochoa, Ray Ochoa and Richard Ochoa; a sister, Aurelia Ballesteros; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren. The Rosary will be recited, followed by a funeral service on Friday, October 3 in the Westcott Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery.
