Philip James Thompson, 75 passed away July 11, 2009. He was born on April 24, 1934 in Bronx, NY. "Phil" was a retired New York City Police Detective and served in the Air Force during the Korean War.

He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather "Papa" and is survived by his wife of 49 years, Theresa, five children; Theresa, Eileen, Patty, Philip, John and six grandchildren; Alisha, Cindy, Troy, Philip, Matthew, Chase and his two sisters Mary and Terri.

Phil was an avid golfer and outdoorsman who loved the deserts and mountains of Arizona where he has resided with his family since 1981. While in Phil's presence you were sure to hear a great story.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 14th from 5-8pm at Heritage Funeral Chapel 6830 W. Thunderbird Road, Peoria, AZ 85381. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 15th 10:00am at St. Jeromes Church 10815 N. 35th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85029 and will be followed by graveside burial at 12:30 pm at the National Memorial Cemetery.
