Jerry Lee College, 66, of Bullhead City, Ariz., died of sudden heart failure in Las Vegas, Nev., on Nov. 25, 2005.

Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 2, at Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham with Pastor Linda Burnett officiating. Burial was at Panther Creek Cemetery in rural Adel.

Jerry College was born Oct. 20, 1939, in Des Moines to Harmon and Myrtle (Campbell) College. He attended school in Earlham and began farming with his father near Earlham. On March 8, 1958, he married Helen Stanley. While farming, he worked at Bookey Meat Packing Plant in Des Moines for 21 years. He also worked for McDaniel & Sons Seeding Company of Earlham for several years and, for 15 years for Scottish Rite park in Des Moines where he was a manintenance worker until his retirement in 1998. On Oct 20, 1986, he married Roberta Dingman at the Little Brown Church in Nashua; in 1999, they moved to Bullhead City, Ariz.

He was preceeded in death by his parents; a sister, Madlyn College; and a brother, Roger Burkhead.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta, of Bullhead City, Ariz; two sons, David College and Joe College, both of Earlham; two daughters, Marcia Seaton and Michelle Hastie, both of Earlham; a sister Jean Volz of Des Moines; six stepchildren, Mike Dingman of Boone, Tim Dingman of Kansas City, Mo., Trish Schroder of Indianola, and Michelle Hartman, Scott Dingman and Kenneth Dingman, all of Creston; and seven grandchildren, nine stepchildren, three great-grandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild.
