Marlene Joan Thorson Born in Pomona, California on May 17, 1934. Departed on Sept. 8, 2004 and resided in Lake Montezuma, Arizona. Marlene Joan Thorson, resident of Lake Montezuma, Arizona, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2004. Marlene is survived by her best friend and beloved husband of 47 years, Walter, and her children, Margy Ann Hoppin, husband, Michael, Melbourne, Fla., Terry Thorson, wife Carmen, Tustin, ,Cindy Walters, husband Allan, Sparks, Nev., and Mark Thorso, wife Pam, Huntington Beach, Calif.; and seven loving grandchildren. Marlene was an avid golfer, loved to needlepoint, and took great joy in playing the piano for over two years for her church, Beaver Creek Baptist Church. There will be a memorial service to celebrate Marlene's life Saturday, September 11th at 10:00 a.m., at Beaver Creek Baptist Church. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations are to be made in her name to Beaver Creek Baptist Church, P.O. Box 479, Rimrock, Arizona, 86335. Her family will miss her terribly but we are at peace knowing Marlene is with her Eternal Father in Heaven. Westcott Funeral Home assisted the family with these arrangments.
