Born in Batavia, New York on March 6, 1936.
Departed on Oct. 5, 2004 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona.

David Russell Tiede, 68, of Cottonwood died October 5. He was born March 6, 1936 in Batavia, New York.

A graduate of Batavia (New York) High School, he also was a techinical school graduate.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Mr.Tiede worked for Tierney Manufacturing in Phoenix and previoulsy for Xerox in Rochester, New York.

A member of the American Legion, he enjoyed softball, basketball and bowling, acheiving three 300 point games and he also participated in the Senior Olympics. He was a friend to everyone he ever met.

Surviving is his wife of 44 years, Marlene Tiede; son Russell David Tiede, wife Lorine, Mayer, Ariz.; daughter Kellene Tiede McCall, husband Stuart, Scottsdale; brothers, Richard Tiede, Raymond Tiede and Roger Tiede all of N.Y.; sister, Dorothy Culling, Fla.; and five grandchildren.

A brother, Frank Tiede, preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 11 in the Westcott Funeral Home at 11 a.m.
