Harold "Hal" T. Beattie went to be with the Lord on Aug, 17, 2006.
Funeral services were held Monday (Aug. 21) at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Jim Longstreet officiating. Visitation was held on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Wickenburg Funeral Home.

Hal was born Dec. 29, 1929 in Detroit, Mich., and raised in Grosse Pointe, Mich., where he had lived for 40 years. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and attended Kansas State Teachers College and later graduated from Western Michigan University, doing post graduate work at University of Miami.

He began working as a pharmaceutical representative and later became an investment broker working primarily in the Detroit and Mt. Clemens areas for 25 years.

He married Glori Johnson Dec. 1, 1967. They moved to Arizona in 1976 and settling in Wickenburg in 1978. He had worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Phoenix prior to his retirement.

Hal was elected to Alpha Kappa Psi, an honorary business fraternity, in 1956 and was also a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He had been a member of the Grosse Pointe Men's Club for years and was a member of Alahambra (dedicated to helping handicapped children).
He was a member of the Rotary Club and the Elks Lodge and a member of the First Presbyterian Church and considered one of his greatest accomplishments as accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Hal loved antique cars and enjoyed spending time in Prescott in the summers. He is survived by his wife Glori Beattie of Wickenburg; son and fiancé Scott and Renata of Los Angeles, Calif.; daughters and sons-in-law Cheryl and Thomas Balun of Sterling Heights, Mich., and Catherine and John Doman of Macomb Township, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and special friends Ron and Sarene Bergman of Wickenburg.

He was preceded in death by granddaughter Lexington Hanson-Beattie on May 5, 1995.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Hal's memory to the Arizona Heart Association.
Arrangements were under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home.
