Kirah Lynn Brown 16, passed away at her home Jan. 16. A memorial service will be held at the Wickenburg Community center today (Wednesday Jan 24) at 6 p.m.

Kirah was born April 26, 1990 in Aberdeen, Wash., to her parents Alex Wagenblast and Heather Brown.

Kirah moved to Wickenburg in 2002 with her father and step-mother Arlie Sylvester, who loved and nurtured her as her daughter. She attended Vulture Peak Middle School and quickly made friends who have remained very close through the years.

At Wickenburg High School she was an excellent student and cheered for both football and basketball. Kirah loved snowboarding, and even discussed pursuing full-time training in Lake Tahoe, Nev. Kirah loved the freedom her Ford pickup afforded her and affectionately called it "The Beast."

Kirah loved all her friends and family. She is also survived by her grandmothers Jacklyn Allington, Dale Brown, Esther Wagenblast, and Mary Dolven, and her great -grandmother Lee Wagenblast; her grandfathers John Wagenblast, Fred Allington and Russ Dolven; and an extended family of eight aunts and uncles, many cousins, and her cat Simon.

Kirah was loved by so many, and we will all miss her.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, a donation to assist the Wickenburg Cheer Team attend Cheer Camp this summer. Other charities and scholarships are also available. Contact Wendy Brown at the Wickenburg High School.

Arragements are entrusted to David's Desert Chapel Funeral Home of Wickenburg.
