John H. Buchtinec
Graveside services will be held Thursday (Jan. 11) at 1 p.m. at the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery for Mr. John H. Buchtinec, age 89, who passed away Jan. 3 at the Ashtabula Co. Medical Center in Ohio. He was born April 14, 1917 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Henry J. and Anna (Cheschelka)Buchtinec.

He had lived in Jefferson, Ohio, for the last four years, coming from Wickenburg. Mr. Buchtinec spent his early life in Ashtabula, but lived and worked all over the world. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service, then Rhor Aircraft as an accountant, then went to work for the U.S. government in the Naval Dept.

Mr. Buchtinec was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in the Pacific Theatre during World War II, and he served in the Reserve during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp during the Depression. He was a member of St. Joseph Calasanctius Church in Jefferson and had been a member of St. Anthony's of Padua Church in Wickenburg. Mr.Buchtinec enjoyed art and was an avid reader. He also spoke fluently in many languages.
He is survived by children Joyce A. (Robert E.) Enos of Jefferson, Marsue (Richard E.) Randa of Ashtabula, Ohio, and John C. (Sandra K.) Buchtinec of Newnen, Ga.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Margarite Buchtinec, two sisters Caroline Zuppancic and Pat Young; and his first wife Gertrude J. (Johns) Smith.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home
