Gennie Emmaline "Emma" Cox entered mortality Dec. 17, 1910 at Calera, Bryan, Okla., and exited Jan. 17, 2006 at Sun City West, Maricopa, Ariz.

The third child of a poor, itinerate farmer, she worked in the fields and tended her younger siblings when still a child. While her family was living near Broken Arrow, Okla., she met and eventually married the love of her life and lifetime partner Claude Cox. After retiring, they spent several years traveling around the country in an RV.

Emma made friends easily, and in her later years was fond of her neighbors at the Country Club Park in Wickenburg. She enjoyed helping customers while working in retail sales. She retired from the Sears Catalog Sales as assistant manager in 1972. She enjoyed reading, playing card and tile games, and she never missed watching "Jeopardy," "Wheel of Fortune," and "The PBR." Her life was exemplary in trying not to offend others, hard work, and frugality.

Emma is survived by one son, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, two sisters and one brother.

She will be interred at the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery where graveside services will be held Saturday, Jan. 28.
