Jimmy (Jim) Burns, 72, of Chino Valley, Arizona, born March 26, 1934, in Lubbock, Texas, died Saturday, May 13, 2006 in Chino Valley.

A gathering of friends and family will take place at a later date.

Jimmy "Jim" Burns, age 72, passed away May 13, 2006, at his home in Chino Valley. Jim was born in Lubbock, Texas, on March 26, 1934, to B.B. and Gladys Burns.

Before his retirement Jim owned and operated his construction company with branches in California and Nevada. He enjoyed landscaping and woodworking, but his true passion was golfing. Jim belonged to the men's golf club at Antelope Hills and StoneRidge.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Robert and Cecil.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; sister, Bonnie Kipp of Tehatchapi, Calif.; brothers, Chuck of Lincoln, Calif., Bill of Antelope, Calif., Jerry of Reno, Nev, and Jesse of Marysville, Calif.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.

Chino Valley Funeral Home is caring for the family.
