Lawrence Bickford, 67, of Prescott, Arizona, born Feb. 5, 1939, in Puerto Rico, died Saturday, May 14, 2006, at Las Fuentes Care Center in Prescott.

Services will be at a later date. Private cremation took place at Bradshaw Crematory.

Lawrence Clark Bickford of Prescott died Sunday, May 14, 2006, at age 67. Larry was born on February 5, 1939, in Aguirre, Puerto Rico, to Ralph and Margaret Bickford.

He spent his childhood in Aguirre and Cheshire, Massachusetts. He was graduated from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, in 1961 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1964.

Prior to moving to Prescott in 2000, Larry and his wife of 41 years, Ann, lived in Croton-on-Hudson, New York, where he was a member of the Croton Planning Board and the Master Plan Committee. He was also on the board of directors of the Saw Mill Audubon Society and Teatown Lake Reservation. Larry spent his professional career as a management consultant in the field of executive compensation at several firms in New York City. From 1973 to 1999, he was a member of the firm of Frederic W. Cook & Co.

Since moving to Prescott, Larry has been involved in the Prescott Audubon Society, The Nature Conservancy, Prescott Creeks Preservation Association, the Prescott Area Tennis Association and the League of Women Voters. For the past three years, he has served as president of the Audubon Society. He also served for the past four years on the Bowdoin College Alumni Council.

Larry is survived by his wife Ann; their son David and his wife Bonnie of Phoenix; their daughter Jill Roberts and her husband Steve of Farmington Hills, Michigan; and two granddaughters, Maya and Karina.

A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 15, at 4 p.m., at the Trinity Presbyterian Church, at the corner of Park Avenue and Copper Basin Road.
