Robert H. Meinke, 67, of Prescott, Ariz., died Jan. 12, 1998, in Yavapai Regional Medical Center, Prescott, after a short illness.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 16 in the First Lutheran Church, Prescott. The Rev. Thomas Rothe officiated.

Interment and military rites followed in Mt. View Cemetery, Prescott.

He was born Jan. 6, 1931, in Mendota to Robert and Luceel (Hill) Meinke. He married Mary McGregor in 1950 in California.

He was a Federal Aviation Designated Flight School examiner, a commercial pilot and a flight instructor. He served as commander of the Arizona Civil Air Patrol. He was the family owner of Custom Pilot Service Inc. of Prescott.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the First Marine Division of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was one of the "Chosen Few," a survivor of the Chosin Reservoir campaign.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Prescott and taught a Bible study class. He moved to Prescott from Santa Ynez, Calif., 17 years ago.

Survivors are his wife of Prescott, Ariz.; two sons, Charles Meinke of Prescott Valley, Ariz., and Robert Meinke of Corvallis, Ore.; a sister, Marilyn (Howard) Gast of Earlville; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
