| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, July 16, 2009 Emil J. Eliason, 97, died July 6, 2009, in Prescott Valley, Ariz. Emil was born Oct. 9, 1911, in Ladysmith, Wis., to Eric and Syndey (Hedblom) Eliason. Emil was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Virginia, and two sisters, Violet Peterson and Gladys Johnson. He is survived by two daughters, Joanne Riddle of Phoenix and Claudette Miller of Prescott Valley; son Jim Eliason of California; sisters Evelyn Walquist and Phyllis Erickson of Wisconsin; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Emil and Virginia were members of the Escapees RV Club and FMCA Roadrunners Club. They traveled all over the U.S. and Canada. Emil worked for Reynolds Metals in Glendale from 1947 until he retired. Private family services have taken place. Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Family Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements. Information provided by survivors. |
