Charles Worthman of Dewey, Ariz., born April 16, 1923, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away July 11, 2009, in Prescott.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bev; daughter Judy Quintana of Flagstaff, Ariz.; son Daniel Worthman of Anchorage, Alaska; and grandchildren, Corrine, Quanah and Christopher.

After serving in the Army in WWII, Charley graduated with a degree in forestry from UCLA/Berkeley. He had a 30-year career with the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Charley loved nature and the outdoors and was an avid hiker. He enjoyed 10 years as a tour guide at Chimney Rock Archeology Site near Pagosa Springs, Colo.

His dry wit and humor will be greatly missed. Charley was a peaceful, gentle man who rarely lost his cool. He was a loving, caring presence in the lives of his wife, children, grandchildren and friends.

Memories and music will be shared at an informal gathering at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009, at the Prescott Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 945 Rancho Vista Dr. A potluck dinner will follow with the entrée and beverages provided. Salads and desserts welcomed.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice Family Care.
