Virgina Camerer, 84, of Cottonwood died July 12 in her home. She was born July 28, 1924 in Davenport, Iowa , the daughter of Harry and Thelma Beck.

She was a graduate of Davenport High School in 1942. She worked for Lockheed Aircraft.

She came to Cottonwood in 1972 to start a new life with her two sons Chuck and Steven and close friend Clinton Bennett. She loved the town of Cottonwood and all of its fine people and strongly believed in giving back to the community of which she loved so much. She donated to many local organizations. She loved to travel in the United States and abroad and had a great love for animals.

Her greatest happiness was to be with the people she loved. Her dear friend Joe Flammia filled a great part of her life.

Preceding her death was a son, Chuck Camerer.

She is survived by a son, Steve Camerer of Eugene, Oregon and his sons, Zachery and Daniel; a daughter Phyllis Anderson and her daughters April & Tami and dear friend Joe Flammia of Cottonwood.

Private services were held by her family.
