| Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ October 23, 2002, p. A21 Cassie E. George Cassie E. George, 92, was born at Klondike, Ariz. Jan. 3, 1910 to Jessie and A.G. Walker. Cassie passed away Oct. 14 in Mesa. The family moved to Black Butte around 1920 where she attended school at Gold Bar Mine. She graduated from Wickenburg High School in 1927 and lived in the Wickenburg area for 82 years. She married Roy George in 1928 and worked for Brayton Commercial Company for many years. She is survived by daughter Beth Russell of Wickenburg; grandsons Robert Russell and wife Alberta of Mesa; Stanley Russell of Show Low; sister Irene Nord of Salome; great grandchildren Troy, Jim, Amy, Susan, Jennie, Stacey, Mikahi, Erik and David; 11 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Cassie is preceded in death by husband Roy; infant daughter Wilma; 2 brothers Jerry and Ira Walker; 3 sisters Violet Lawson, Thelma Vensel and Ora Gray; grandson Roy Russell. Services were held Oct. 19 at the Wickenburg Church of Christ. Arrangements were handled by Frey Funeral Home. See Also: Find A Grave |
