Linus "L.J." Koressel was born on June 9, 1928, in Evansville, Ind., to Adam and Rose Koressel. He passed away March 9 at the age of 76.
In 1956 when the International Harvester Plant closed down, he moved his family out west to Phoenix, Ariz., to start a new life. He was hired by AirResearch/Honeywell shortly after arriving and remained there for 30 years until 1986, when he retired. In 1998 he moved out of the city to Wickenburg, Ariz.

He loved hunting, fishing, off-roading and camping. Starting out with a car, two sleeping bags and a trap, he gradually upgraded to a new 38-foot Winnebago. In an attempt to escape the heat, do a little fishing and some trapping, the Winnebago was headed to the Oregon coast nearly every summer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Eljean and brother Eugene. He is survived by his wife Eva, sons Donald Koressel and wife Pat of Evansville, Ind., Ronald Koressel and wife Judy of Glendale, Ariz., Kevin Koressel and wife Sue of Prescott, Ariz., and Kimball Koressel of Laveen, Ariz.; grandchildren Jeff, Michelle, Kelly, Heidi, Justin and Ryan, and six great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all.

Visitation will be today (Wednesday, March 16) from 6-8 p.m. at Wickenburg Funeral Home. Service will be Thursday (March 17) at 1 p.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with burial to follow at Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery. Father Brian Bell officiating.

The family requests donations be made in memory of Mr. Linus Koressel to the Youth Fund, Elks Lodge #2160, P.O. Box 155, Wickenburg, AZ 85358-0155, or American Cancer Society, Attn: Web, P.O. Box 102454, Atlanta, GA 30368-2454.
