Elizabeth Muriel Leon, 77, of Cordes Lakes, Arizona, born March 7, 1929, in Schenectady, N.Y., died Sunday May 7, 2006, in Prescott Valley, Arizona.

Memorial Mass will take place at 7 p.m. Friday, May 12 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Hwy 69 in Mayer, Arizona.

Elizabeth Muriel (Betty) Leon, age 77, died May 7, 2006, in Prescott Valley, Ariz. She was born March 7, 1929, in Schenectady, N.Y., to Charles Joseph and Cathren Mae (Gretten) Norton.

Betty was a member of Eastern Star for 59 years as well as The Ladies Oriental Shrine and Daughters of the Nile, of which she was a former president of the Prescott Club. She was a wonderful homemaker and she enjoyed every minute of raising her family. Betty was an adventurous spirit that enjoyed camping and traveling.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Chuck Leon; her sons, Charles C. Leon of Paulden, Ariz., Richard C. Leon of Prescott Valley, Ariz., and Michael C. Leon of Gilbert, Ariz.; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Cathren Norton, and her brother, Charles Conrad Norton, who served inthe 10th Mountain Division
in Italy.

Commemoration services in honor of Betty will be held Friday May 12, 2006, at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church located at 10901 S. Highway 69, Mayer, Ariz., with Father Daryl Olds officiating. A reception will follow at the church.

A second commemoration service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2006, at El Zaribah Shrine Center located at 522 N. 40th Street, Phoenix, Ariz., 85008.

The family suggests memorial contributions in honor of Betty be made to Shrine Hospital - Transportation Fund in care of El Zaribah Shrine 522 N. 40th Street, Phoenix, Ariz., 85008.
