Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ April 26, 1957, p. 1 Funeral Monday For Roy Purser Funeral services were held at 1:30 o'clock last Monday afternoon for Roy N. Purser, a resident of Wickenburg since 1946, who passed away at Community Hospital here early in the morning of April 19. Mr Purser had been in ill health a long while but entered the hospital only the day before his death. He was born August 15, 1896, in Lansing, Mich., and was engaged as a salesman and commercial photographer there until moving to Phoenix in 1939 where he was in the poultry business. He followed the same occupation after moving to Wickenburg 11 years ago. The Purser home is two and one-half miles east of town on the Phoenix highway. Monday afternoon's funeral services were conducted by Rev. Bill Barker, with burial following in the Wickenburg Cemetery. Surviving are the widow, Vivian and five children: Fred N. Purser of Wickenburg; Mrs. John E. Smith, Phoenix; Mrs. George C. Barlett, Jr., Dallas, Tex.; Mrs. Walter Dumont, Garden Grove, Calif., and Ernest R. Purser, Washington, D.C., a brother, Bruce L. Purser of Lansing, Mich., and 14 grandchildren also survive. See Also: Find A Grave |
