David Atilano Rea
Funeral Services for David Atilano Rea will be held Wednesday (Nov. 29) at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Father George Highberger as Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery.

Rosary was said on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Wickenburg Funeral Home.
David was born on Dec. 29, 1921 in San Juan de los Lagos, Jalisco, Mexico. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, Nov. 24 in Chandler, Ariz.

David came to the United States with the Bracero program in 1945. He returned to Mexico and married the love of his life Josefina Guzman, who preceded him in death in 1987. They were married for 40 years.
After marrying, David and Josefina returned to the United States and lived in New Mexico where David worked in agriculture. They moved to Arizona in 1950 and David worked for the Santa Fe Railroad in many parts of Arizona including Wickenburg and Aguila.

He was preceded in death by his oldest son David Jr. in July of 1979, his second wife Prima Gallardo, in November 2005, a sister Socorro Aguayo in August 1965, and his grandson Jon David Rea in August 2005.
David is survived by 11 children: Henri (Bette), Connie Vicker (Bill), Carmen Orozco ("Nacho"), Ruben (Alma), Maria Elena Rascon (Pancho), Tella Rea, Terry Rea-Hayden (Joe), Felix (Tracy), Angel (Mary), Lisa Vicker (Mike), and Manuel (Trisha). David is also survived by 31 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, eight step-children, and 25 step-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Ramona Aguirre of Mexico and many loving nephews and nieces.

The family respectfully suggests memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley in the memory of David Atilano Rea. Arrangements are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home.
