Bessie M. Schmid
Graveside services for Bessie M. Schmid, age 89, who passed away April 2 in Sun City West, will be held Saturday, April 8 at 11 a.m. at the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery.

Bessie was born July 10, 1916 in Magna, Utah, to Frank Orson Parker and Alice Hardy Parker. She was raised in Covina, Calif., and graduated from Covina High School.

She married Emil Schmid in March of 1937, and they made their home in Whittier, Calif. She was primarily a homemaker.

Bessie was a member of the Women's Elks Emblem Club in Whittier and she was an avid bowler and baseball fan. She also enjoyed crocheting.
She came to Arizona in 1982, settling in Aguila to be near family and moving to Wickenburg in 1994.

Bessie often attended the Wise Owl Senior Center, having many friends wherever she went.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Jake and Ethelene Schmid of Aguila, and Tim and Barbara Schmid of Placerville, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law Kay and Ray Jones of Congress; brother Bill Parker of Murphys, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law Jack and Dorothy Parker of Redding, Calif.; and sister Virginia Tonetti of Murphys, Calif.; seven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
