Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg AZ May 9, 2007 Mary Pauline Stegall, a long-time resident of Wickenburg, died May 5 at Sun West Care Center in Sun City. Mary was born April 16, 1919 in Manly, Iowa, to parents George Henry Duncan and Gertrude Brendel Duncan. She graduated from Manly High School in 1936 and attended Cornell College and Morningside College in Iowa, majoring in organ and voice. During World War II she worked for the U. S. Military in aircraft communications and weather data. After World War II, Mary married Gerald Guy Stegall and together they operated a Made-Rite busniness in Grand Junction, Colo. They moved to Wickenburg in 1960, and for many years owned and operated the Purple Hills Motel. Mary was active in the First Presbyterian Church serving as organist, choir director, and church secretary. Mary was preceded in death by her husband in 1974. She is survived by step-son Larry (Maralie) Stegall of Clifton, Colo.; grandchildren Brad Stegall of Denver,; Barbara (Calvin) Fidler of Engelwood; and Brian (Sandy) Stegall of Clifton; and great-granddaughter Monica Stegall, Megan Stegall, and Danae Fidler. Brad and Barbara were baptist in Wickenburg at the First Presbyterian Church. Services will be May 14 at First Presbyterian Church at 9:30 a.m., with Pastor Samuel Weinschenk officiating. Burial will follow at Wickenburg Cemetery. Arragements are by David's Desert Chapel Funeral Home in Wickenburg. See Also: Find A Grave |
