Chester J. Tingley Born in Peckville, Pennsylvania on March 10, 1928. Departed on Sept. 12, 2005 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona. A resident of Cottonwood for 31 years, Chet Tingley entered God's presence at 77 years of age. He was born in Peckville, PA in 1928, graduated from Blakely High School and earned a BA degree in chemistry from Houghton College in Houghton, N.Y. For 24 years Chet worked as an analytical chemist for Lederle Laboratories in Pearl River, N.Y. before retiring to Arizona in 1974. He was an all-round handyman and improviser. Living in the South-west provided opportunity for year-round camping, hiking, and canoeing. He is survived by Lynne, his wife of 54 years; brother, Rollin, New Milford, Pa.; twin brother Calvin, Hudson, Fla.; and sister, Jeanne Whitbeck of Roanoke, Va. A Time of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, October 8th, at 1p.m. in the Wesleyan Methodist Church across the street from the Tingley home on Rainbow Road in Cottonwood.
