| The Wickenburg Sun dated December 6, 2000 Andrew R. Grantham Andrew R. Grantham of Congress, died Dec. 2 in Congress. He was 87. Mr. Grantham was born Sept. 23, 1913 in Roosevelt. He had lived in Arizona most of his life. Andy was the son of Rufus Marion and Mary Ann (McReynolds) Grantham. He was the youngest and last living of 13 children. The only child to be born in Arizona. The family had moved to the Tonto Basin and the Globe area from Texas about 1910. Andy attended schools in Tonto, Globe and Gilbert. His first jobs were working for his brothers, R.M., Bob and Levi, on ranches. Throughout his life he worked in the mining industries as a propane service man, ranched, and ran cattle for himself. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He resided in Arizona and then California for 19 years and then ranched in West Virginia for 10 years. He returned to Arizona in 1993 where his loving wife, Luella, cared for him until his passing. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survivors include his wife, Luella May Grantham; daughters Sylviann Herrod and husband Stan of Parsons, W.Va., and Jean Tillman and husband Bill of Thatcher; sons Richard Grantham and wife Louise of Sierra Vista, Lloyd Sanderson and wife Eleanor of San Bernardino, Calif., and Dan Grantham and wife Nancy of Mauriceville, Texas; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing will be from 10-10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9 at the Pioneer Cemetery in Pumpkin Center. Graveside services will follow at 11 a.m. at the cemetery. Bishop Rucker will officiate.
