Richard Allen Lefor, Jr. Born in St. Joseph, Michigan on May 28, 1983. Departed on Feb. 9, 2006 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona. Richard Allen Lefor Jr "R.J." was born May 28, 1983 in St. Joseph, Michigan. He went to school in Hartford and Watervliet, Michigan. He was a 2001 graduate of Watervliet High School. His love of sports led him through many baseball, basketball & football teams in Michigan. His sports accomplishments are numerous, including Jr. Nationals Basketball award winner, Michigan state record holder for passing yards completed in a single season as a quarterback for the Watervliet Panthers. He was quarterback for the Kalamazoo Dawgs semi-pro football team and took them through the Vegas Bowl Championship series in Las Vegas. He played on numerous softball teams in Coloma, Michigan and Cottonwood, Arizona. After years in Michigan, he made Arizona his home. His love of the weather and nature drew him to this area - along with the ability to be close to his mother and little brother. His love of family & friends was amazing. His personality lit up every life he encountered. He held a special bond & love for both of his brothers - characterized by the true meaning of a loving big brother. RJ's favorite past time was spending time with his "little bubbie" Jacob and enjoying his friends and family. He will be missed by all that love him, including his friends in Mich., his special friends at the Get A Way, his past team mates for the Panthers and the Dawgs and all of his wonderful friends in and around Cottonwood, Arizona. He is survived by his parents, Cheryl and Randall Oliver, Cottonwood, Ariz. and Rick and Kim Lefor, Hartford, Mich.; brothers, Antoni Lefor, Hartford, Mich. and Jacob "Bubbie" Oliver, Cottonwood, Ariz.; sister, Kasie Zilk, Lantan, Fla.; Grandpa, Dick Oliver, Ozark, Ark.; Grandma, Penny Tardiff, Chino Valley, Ariz., and Sue Olive, Ozark, Ark.; Great- Grandma: Hettie Skidmore, Benton Harbor, ich.; uncles, Rick Price, Tom Lefor, David Lefor, Jeff Lefor, Bob Newton, and Kelly Oliver; aunt, Regina Rosenberg, Robin Saddler, Chris Lefor, Kris Lefor, Debbie Newton, Anne Lefor and Anita Williams. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15th at the Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 16th at 1:00 p.m. from Emmanuel Fellowdhip Church in Cottonwood. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Clarkdale. Donations greatly appreciated. They will be accepted through Emmanual Fellowship 1580 E. Fir Street, Cottonwood, Ariz., 86326.
