John William Trainer

Born in Chicago, Illinois on July 26, 1924.
Departed on July 20, 2006 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona.

John William Trainer, age 81, resident of Cottonwood, Arizona, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2006 in Prescott, Arizona. He was born on July 26, 1924 to Thomas and Augusta Trainer in Chicago, Illinois, where he grew up and spent much of his life.

As a young man, John served his country during WWII in the United States Navy.

As an adult, he worked as an electrician for the City of Chicago.

Later in his life, John again served his country and his fellow comrades as Service Officer with the VFW Post 7400, V.A. Shuttle driver, and as member of the Honor Guard.

John had several pastimes, of which some include; hunting, sailing, golfing, traveling and spending time with his friends at the VFW. He also liked horses.

John is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Thomas; and his sisters, Betty and Jean.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Maureen Trainer, Cottonwood, Ariz.; sons, Mark and Linda Trainer, Penn., Scott Trainer, Chicago, Ill., and James Trainer, Cottonwood, Ariz.; daughter, Beth and John Polling, Chicago, Ill. and five grandchildren.
