Rochelle “Shell” Anne Vignetti-Vaughan, 56, resident of Cottonwood, Arizona, born January 12, 1950 to Eleanor Martel and Angelo J. Vignetti in Ligonier, Pennsylvania, where she attended both elementary and high school, graduating in 1968. She was a pianist, but also played the saxophone in the junior and senior bands and was a member of the high school honor society. Shell’s first two years of college were spent at the University of Pittsburgh, where she was on the president’s list. In 1971 she transferred to California State University in Long Beach, California, where she graduated cum laude with a psychology major in 1973. While there, she was nominated for membership in the National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. Unfortunately, Shell developed a severe case of “mono” her senior year of college and was plagued with ill health ever since. After graduation, Shell worked as personnel manager in the Arts and Science Department at California State University in Santa Cruz, California. In 1989, Shell moved to Cottonwood, Arizona, where she has remained most of the time since then. After a lengthy illness, Shell expired on Friday, July 21, 2006. Her mother, Eleanor Martel, also of Cottonwood, Arizona, is her sole survivor. A memorial service for Shell will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Verde Valley Manor’s Godard Hall, 3400 E. Godard Rd., in Cottonwood, Arizona.
