Vernie Morgan

Vernie Alice Morgan ,age 85, passed away Sept. 16, at her home in Congress. She was born Jan. 12, 1922 in Cardwell, Mo., to William F. Acree and Alma Lawson Acree.

She came to Arizona in 1959 from Glenn, Mich., and settled in Congress in 1984.

Alice was a member of the Church of Christ in her earlier years and also a member of the Eastern Star. She had worked for Motorola for 13 years prior to retiring.

Alice was a very kind and considerate person a great mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a friend.

She was preceded in death by her husband Loran Morgan in 1988 and her parents. Alice is survived by daughters Norma Joan Hair of Lago, Fla., Brenda Gephart of Congress, Ariz., Sharon Makela of Phoenix, Ariz.; son Kim Makela of Phoenix; sisters Helen Kellum of Fennville, Mich., and Betty Pretat of Otis Orchard, Wash.; grandchildren Cindy Hair, Karen Henly, Tommy Hair, Deborah Makela, Travis Makela, Lindsey Makela and Robert Gephart.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home
